How many have taken float trip's down Texas River's.
My first float trip was down the Brazos River starting behind Possum Kingdom Lake Dam , to the Boy Scout camp, then on down to Rochelles Camp near Weatherford. I think I was around 15 and a member of the Explorer Scout's. Which was way better than the Cub or Boy Scout's in my opinion since it was coed.
After I was more familiar with the river and a little older I took trips starting at the same place only ending up sometimes as far down River as Horseshoe Bend on the other side of Weatherford .
My dad would drop me off at PK . I had everything I would need to stay pretty much as long as I wanted. Mostly ate what fish I could catch (which was plenty) of course coated in corn meal salt and pepper. A skillet, and crisco shortening, I was set for the summer. There's plenty of springs along the river thru there . So I carried pre-sweetened cool-aid to drink . Sometimes I stayed a week , sometimes a month. Always had a ton of fun.
Never had a problem.
