Just wondering what the golden triangle is?

I have been hearing about it but not sure what it is. Is it the prime deer density area in Texas?

how many deer over 160" come out of grayson county every year? sure there are some big deer there, but as far as big numbers of big deer, you're not going to beat south texas.

Could not tell ya...I have never hunted in south or grayson counties..I just base my statement..On LDP'S posted...And Grayson looked pretty impressive to me

I have seen a few really nice deer too come out of grayson.

scroll through the los cazadores entires and see where the deer are coming from though, and there are many that are never entered.

there was a 181" 11 point shot off my lease that wasn't entered this year along.

Not all Los Cazadores entries come out of south Texas, but yes, most do. Now that I think about it, maybe THAT'S why they added a new rule that you have to bring in the antlers with the cape still on the head? I thought it was for the Open division, but maybe there's another reason.

Per capita, North central Texas and the Panhandle can go toe-to-toe with South Texas, they (we) just don't have the sheer numbers of deer. And like you say with South Texas, there are lots of big deer killed every year up here that don't get reported. And the South Texas guys hate it when I say this, but in most cases up north it's done without the assistance of a HF, so that element has really changed the game in S Tx.

But anyway, the guy asked about the golden triangle. I think it's a little bigger than the picture posted above.
