My pop has it at the moment, a rifle my grandfather took from a Japanese soldier in Okinawa. He still has the original customs form that describes it simply as.......Jap Rifle.
Remy woodsmaster pump, in 300 savage from grandfather, when I turned 11, he had the gun since almost new, he obtained it from a fellow hunter at a year old when he wanted a different gun... Still have it and had it restored prolly 4 years ago... love that gun..
30-30 from back in the 30's, from my grand dad who farmed all his life. Started out share cropping. There are a few distinct notches on the stock. No explanations given, no questions asked.........
Correction on the 30-30, it's really a lever action 44-40 i think, just had 30-30 on my mind, since there is one of those just not as old. I need to look at it and confirm
I have a 18something rifle .... I think it is a Stevens or maybe Savage ? Little bitty short thing ... single shot with broken off lever ( the drop down lever ) ... hard to read but I think it is a .32 ?
Just a conversation piece as I have never shot it ... had one guy tell my dad / grandfather that it was carried as a "stagecoach rifle" ?
Anyone that knows anything about these type of guns give me a yell ...
I've got my great granddad's Remington rolling block .32 I believe it's rimfire but could be wrong. Not sure when it was made, but it's old. Never fired it because I was told it blew burning powder in thee face of the last guy who tried.
1946 Marlin 39A .22lr. First gun my grampa bought when he got back from the war.
1968 Winchester Model 94 .30-.30
Sporterized Model 1917 Winchester .30-06. I don't know how old it is but it was well used when my dad bought it in 1964. I don't want to take the scope bases off to check the serial number because it shoots so well.
