1930's Winchester single shot .22. It was my wife's grandfather that he gave me before he passed away. It was given to him when he was 12 after getting over the measle's. I love it and someday will pass it along to my son who was only 2 when Grandpa passed away.

I have an old J.C.Higgins Model 58 in .270 that my grandfather bought through the company store 50-60 years ago. The action is a Husqvarna, made in Sweden, and is a true Mauser. This was a mid-grade firearm when it was bought, but you'd have to buy a Kimber or a Sako to get a rifle of this quality today.
The truck chauffer at 67's on the D shift refinished the wood and re-blued everything for me last year and this rifle looks like new.
I also have some family-owned old Browning Humpbacks in 16 ga. and 12 ga. that are priceless to me.

My oldest is a 1911 .45acp, government issue, that was passed down to my father and then to me by my grandfather. It was his sidearm in WWI. Still shoots great. Serial #209566.
As far as the handloads go, if there is no sign of corrosion then I would shoot it. I've got some shotgun handloads that are that old and I've shot them with no problems.

I don't know the exact year models but I have a 16ga Belgium Browning and a Winchester 30-30. Both of them my granddad gave to me before he died. He was a sherriff for 30 years and the 30-30 was his service weapon. He never carried a pistol. Said he couldn't hit anything with a pistol so he never carried one.
