I'm convinced anything's possible, they're tough animals. If somebody put an arrow through me, I wouldn't be runnin!

Agreed, could have rolled and then only caught one lung if that. It'd be tough for her to roll that much at that close though. Man, I can't tell you the number of deer with that exact shot.

This is my thoughts, do an autopsy.

My guess is she rolled, like previously mentioned.

No such thing as a "void"

Haha. Guess my slick trick failed to deploy on my lost doe.

You hit "the void". Spot tween the lungs and spine.

Yes. Had a good friend shoot a 10 pt 3 seasons ago, said he could hear that deer on a hill coughing up blood. Long story short, when he got to the hill after letting the deer "expire" all he found was a pool of red frothy blood. He ended up shooting that deer 6 weeks later in Dec.

Like someone stated above, his deer turned away as he released the arrow and he only got lung, barely clipped the other and missed all the pulmonary arteries. His buck was living on one lung capacity.

So yeah its bio and physiologically possible, but not probable

My theory is: she was either quartering away too much and the shot is a hair past her lung, or she did a hard spin before the arrow hit. If that was a broadside shot she would be double lunged and dead.

Had a friend pop a doe just at 20 yards. Double lunged her. When he was cleaning her we saw something somewhat unusual. The entrance hole in the hide was almost 6 inches lower than the entrance hole in the ribs.

The shot looks good. A deer can survive a "fatal" shot if they bed near water and the wound clots. I don't see bloody shoulders or anything, so I would bet she went to a mud hole and got the bleeding stopped; and kept drinking water to help with the volume loss. She will probably die anyway from septicemia. Strange things happen.

Id finish her off, their is no way she can be healthy with that shot, my guess is she will not make it long term.

Did you video the shot? My guess is she ducked at the shot, her lungs compressed and
you shot through the void. I shot a doe a few years ago that was quartering away at
18 yds. She ducked and rolled so hard to her right that I got guts and a low exit. I would
have sworn it was a perfect shot but the video showed what really happened. I let her
go and we tried to find her with no luck. The video showed the arrow kicked down, so I guess
the exit was covered by gut.

Strange things happen when you trip the release. Most of the time it is pilot error but
sometimes stuff happens. Does are much harder to kill than bucks anyway.

Video each shot and good luck with the Rage, I'll stay with Slick Tricks!

I did the same thing on the biggest buck I ever saw at 12 yards. I had a ton of blood for over 1200 yards. We think he is still around. 1 picture that could be him and 1 sighting that was him.
