is it possible to shoot a deer in the lungs and it live? I shot this deer on oct 8 morning at 10 yds out of a pop up with a slick trick. the arrow passed through i found the arrow 15 yds from where she was standing. i thought it was a perfect shot, but only found 1 golf ball size blood spot about 50 yds away.searched for 2 hrs and nothing. i had to go back home to work that night. So i put a game camera up the next trip and here she is on this pic. The shot looks good to me perfect broadside shot should have hit both lungs. another reason i choose to use rage broadheads.

She could have rolled away from you from the sound of the bow and if she did, you may have caught only one lung.

I would think a field tip through the lungs would be fatal...never heard of a ST not getting the job done.

Sorry, I had to. Wow that looks like it should have been a fatal shot and lower than the "void zone"..amazing she's still kicking, but deer are resilient creatures! My only guess would be what was mentioned earlier about only hitting one lung.

ive heard some stories on hitting a void spot on deer where the arrow just slides through without striking vitals.

I think its obvious that your broadhead malfunctioned. You just cant trust those dang fixed blade heads!
You should have switched to Rage months ago.
