never had a prob with it and ive bought/sold lots of items but i always keep a lil somthin special with me just in case some one wants to get a lil funny if ya know wat i mean.
It's just a use your common sense scenario. People were meeting and doing deals with thrifty nickel, american classifieds, and the newspaper long before Craigslist came about. Meet in a neutral location and just to feel more comfortable take a friend along.
my wife sells junk all the time on CL and we have never had an issue...i bought both my bows on CL and made the deal in their garage with the door up open to the street
i do like for my wife to have people pick up stuff while i am there but she is hard headed and has people pick up stuff all the time, mostly kid junk
we have never had an issue but usually small ticket items like someone mentioned earlier and not $10,000 vehicles
I've bought, sold & traded with no issues. I tell everyone, that contacts me, that I do business the old fashioned way. We meet, shake hands, and I only accept cash.
We have bought and sold through CL without any problems. Depending on the item, I have gone to people's homes and have had them come to my home. Smaller items, I will usually meet them in a public place. I usually take a friend or I will let a friend know when, where, and the info of the person I am meeting.
Usually, just by talking to someone on the phone, you can at least tell if they really know anything about the item. Trust your woman's intuition, if something don't feel right then don't do it. Otherwise, it shouldn't be a problem.
Just meet them in a very public place. I've bought and sold a ton of stuff on CL never had a bad experiance. If I have to go to someones house I will take someone with me.
I've bought multiple things (how about a month-old kitchen dish washer for $50 when the guy's wife decided after replacing it, to re-do the whole kitchen?), sold things up to a car ($2k cash transaction) and have given away lots of stuff my kids outgrew or I didn't need anymore and instead of throwing out, found somebody who wanted it.
My wife got concerned about strangers seeing what's in my garage, so now if it's something that I don't want to meet on neutral ground, my garage door is closed, the transaction takes place on the driveway, and the nearest bathroom is at the Burger King a couple of miles away.
Buying, I always ask to meet at a public place like a shopping center parking lot, or a MacDonalds.
As a woman, unless you carry, I'd ask a guy to go with you.
The deals are cash on the barrel head, buyer inspects at time of purchase, no refunds, credits or exchanges later. Make sure the buyer understands.
