Someone is interested in my old bow. I was all game to meet the guy, got scolded, y'all start to make me feel better, then...ask if I have CHL.

I may end up just keeping this bow I need to sell

My wife sells stuff on there without any problems. She always meets people in public places, not our home. I go with her at night with a .45

mary i would meet the guy over in that starbucks parking lot by the mercedes dealership there by weslayan. the reason i saw that is cause it is always so busy over there you shouldnt have to worry about anything going bad.

No, no, no...The CHL part of my reply was just an after thought. As in...if you have a CHL it doesnt matter if you meet in a public area or bring someone with you. (Although I would still meet in a public area. )

I bought my boat on craigslist. I went by myself well and my Glock 40. Didn't need it though. We even shared a few of his beers after the sale.

Ahhhhhhh...,good idea. I shouldn't need to take someone with me there.

I always take the exact amount of cash the item is, no more, no less. Out of the dozens of items I've bought off CL I've probably only paid full asking price a couple times. Once you meet the seller and look over the item it doesn't hurt to re-ask their asking price. They'll always go lower since you're there with cash.
IMO it pretty cheap*** to agree on a price and then once a person brings the item to you, you try and get a better price. A deal is a deal. If you dont get the price you want from the beginning dont meet up.

Mary I agree with the others and meet in a public place and you should have no problems. And if you have your CHL and little protection is not a bad idea.

Most people are good natured. But it only takes one to ruin your day. I have bought and sold many many items and never once had an issue.Play it smart ...meet in public and bring a buddy (s&w 357) or a pal. Trust your gut though if your not comfortable then call it off...no harm no fowl. Cash is King though and sorry but i wouldnt take a check.I sold some lab puppies a while back and a gentleman drove fro Dallas to Waco just to see them.We met At my firehouse and he bought 2 even though he was only interested in 1.We now are good friends and Duck hunt reguraly with those dogs.Good luck with your adventure....dont sweat it but stay alert.

A friend of mine sold her car on craigslist and met the buyer in the police station parking lot.

Count the money in front of them. Or have them count it for you.

I've sold a bunch of stuff on craigslist without any major problems. One time though I was selling a bike for $75 and the people only brought $60 because "they got their bike ads confused." Just be wary, and stick to your guns if they take your time to meet somewhere and don't want to pay full price.
