After a sell on Craigslist...the exchange question

This will be the 1st time I have ever used Craigslist. After being given the finger shaking, 3rd degree of the bad side ("could be" crazies) on Craigslist....I'd love to hear how those of you, that have sold through there, would work an exchange. Things I should/should not do on closing a deal.

A friend has made me feel like I almost need to get an LEO to go with me....ugh! Really?!?!?!

I am sure if you ask Chew nicely, he will go with you..... at least he looks kinda scary!!!

Any way, I have sold a few things on craigslist and never had any problems with the people who have bought my stuff.

If you can, meet on neutral ground, so they dont know where you live. Other than that, just be cautious of your surroundings and you should be just fine.

I treat all my Craigslist exchanges just like I treat TBH exchanges.. Meet in a public location neutral from each other's houses. If I have a buddy that's available to ride along I'll take them, it doesn't hurt to have someone with you.

I always take the exact amount of cash the item is, no more, no less. Out of the dozens of items I've bought off CL I've probably only paid full asking price a couple times. Once you meet the seller and look over the item it doesn't hurt to re-ask their asking price. They'll always go lower since you're there with cash.

I agree with Bull, meet at a public place with alot of activity and or don't go alone. Most people are good folk, but it only takes one to make a bad experience.

It never hurts to bring a friend along.
Meet in a walmart parking lot, or somewhere similar.
Try to do everything out in the open.

If you have your CHL, then your safety is covered.

I've never had a problem buying or selling but I always bring my little "Austrian" friend with me just in case.

Good to hear you treat it like a TBH exchange. I WAS feeling that way before the scold.

I'll go back to those thoughts now

My wife handles the money, I stay to the side and handle the protection. Never had an issue

I think the real question is, What did you buy?

Police or Fire station parking lots are safe places.
