Don't know a thing about them other than I was at the bow shop last night shooting and a kid had one there on the range. That thing was fast. At 20 yards, the arrow hit the target in what seemed like "milliseconds" from the release. They chronographed it and it was 332 FPS at 65lbs. Don't anything about the arrows or weight of the field point.

It gets expensive on the strings when u have to replace the cables and yokes. Id like to see the look on the guys face at a cabelas when he had to do that. Theres no way I would ever let anyone from a box store ever touch my monster. Also there are alot of bows that claim to be as fast but good luck, none are. Not strother, pse or any bow i have ever seen out shoot a regular monster 6 except a monster xlr8.

I brought it home set at 63 lbs. It has a 28.5" draw length. My huntin' arrows are 420 grains, and I am getting 306 fps. with that setup. It hits really hard and is pretty easy to shoot.
Consequently I haven't cranked it up at all - I just left it alone. A buddy of mine gave me some Victory HVs and I have no idea how fast they shoot, but I am guessing around 340. They are loud, but man do they get there quickly.

I have a QAD on mine and I am very happy with it. If you're arrow is bouncing toward the end of your draw cycle you might consider decreasing the draw weight some.
I'll not shoot a with a rest that isn't full containment on a hunting bow ever again. In the same way that a fish that gets off gets larger every year, I missed the draw on a 160 class buck at 8 yards because I had to draw at a little bit of a skewed angle, and the arrow fell off the rest, and the buck vaporized. He left like a ghost. I was also shaking a fair amount since I could hear his breath. I sold that Bow Doodle and have stuck to either a RipCord or a QAD since. I like them both, but I like the QAD more.

Kind of a general question to all Monster owners - What's so different about the Monster 7.0 draw cycle than the Monster 6.0, I keep hearing everyone talk about a hump in the draw cycle but I've never experienced that before.Last edited by rhendrix; 09-14-2010, 09:59 AM.

Very true, that bow is not for everyone .... but I loved it. Did not end up buying one though, got the Z7 instead. The hump everyone is talking about it there, just look at the cam. No way to get around it and keep that awesome speed. Will say that the 7.0 is a different bow than the others, especially at 60 or 65 lbs....the hump is not nearly as noticeable, but it is there. On any of the monsters, I would choose a full containment drop away such as the QAD or ripcord etc., since if you draw the bow quickly you will probably get a little arrow jump right before the wall. Again, love the monsters, the Z7 just fit my style better and was more comfortable for me to shoot.
