OK here goes my two pennies worth. LOL. Please withhold any flames to end of comment. I have visited the CCR facility but will admit I have yet to shoot there. It does appear to be a very nice place, although a little pricey for a poor little guy like me, not to say that I will never join CCR just have to wait for the final verdict on that. That is cool as I have an archery home that is within my means and am actually quite involved with making it better every day. I think we all admit that it does nothing but positive things for the sport to have clubs and ranges working together so that shoots and events do not overlap as most archers I know enjoy shooting almost every weekend and will sometimes drive many miles to compete in another event. It is unfortunate that sometimes club shoots do get double booked but this is just the way it is. But if another range/club were to schedule a shoot on the same weekend of a major shoot/event, I am not sure there is any other way for it to be viewed than a slap in the face. Please feel free to enlighten me if needed.

In the end, we are all on the same side, as we all are very passionate about the sport of flinging sticks into the targets of our choosing, so let us all keep this in mind. This being said, as a member of a local club, I might find it more difficult to go check out a new updated range, if they are scheduling events in complete disregard of other clubs and archery organizations events in the metroplex area. And no I am not saying this is what is happening, just based on what has been said on this thread as I do not have a CCR Schedule or know for sure when they have scheduled shoots. Side note, I am only talking about events here in the DFW Metro, not statewide.

    Flame Away. ;-)

Like I said, I do know for sure if it has happened just posted my views if it was happening. If it is not happening, then I might be more inclided to further explore CCR as another place to practice the sport we love so much. :-)

As stated before, I welcome another range that will work with other clubs in the area to advance our cause. Which is to brainwash the nation into coming out to all of the ranges every weekend, supporting our vendors and clubs and ranges, flinging arrows every waking moment.

The MDA shoot there is on the same weekend as the ASA state championship at Cowtown, and the Thursday night thing was on top of Cowtown's weekly thing.

This clarifies it somewhat except for the fact that Cowtown does not have a weekly shoot. We have been working on something like a league night once a week but have yet to set anything up as of yet. It is unfortuinate that the MDA shoot was scheduled over the ASA State Championships [if this info is indeed correct as I personally have not confirmed] as I am sure it will divide shooters, which is not beneficial for either Cowtwon or CCR or the ASA. Like I said before, most archers I know would more than liokley participated in both shoots given the chance.

Totally agree with you and I am right there with you in the "easily distracted" boat. :-)

The MDA shoot was set up and scheduled by the folks running it not CCR....the Thursday night shoot was what a few of the members asked for.

Correct. Cowtown has yet to put together a weekly shoot as we are still trying to figure out if there are enough folks interested in doing so and which night best works for everyone involved.

And you will be able to shoot both events as the ASA State Championships are Sat and Sun. Unfortunately, those that will be working the shoot will need to be there both days, so not possible for me to go anywhere else on that weekend. LOL.

Okay , I have been out for awhile and come back to a fire storm of this, I want to clear atleast one or two things up we have not double booked anything. All the events that have been booked here are from outside host . The only event that we have set ourselves is the Classic and we moved it to because of the ASA conflicts . I also would like to thank you for pointing out something i have never thought of. With the fact of Ken Witt moving to our shop and the dealership will not transfer . (FYI we knew that 2 years ago ) This is opening up more of an area for Smithfield from Fort Worth to Waco . I would like to thank everyone for there Feedback and Concerns > Joe and Myself and Joey have all had the same meeting and the same conversations that have gone on here and we feel that we are doing the correct thing and we will have a level of customer service that will exceed your wildest dreams . In closing i would ask that if you feel that something needs to be addressed please contact me . As i have said before our doors are open to anyone that wants to walk in. I would like to invite everyone to come out and see whats new.
                            See You Soon
