I was glad to him tell that other person to get out of the way. Lots of injuries happen every year while field dressing animals. Watch out for your own legs too.

i don't even gut deer anymore, hang by the back legs and you can get the quarters, bs and tenderloins off without ever having to really deal with that.
The deer was going to be put in the freezer for several days so we had to gut him.

Pretty quick, neat video. I would have cut something I shouldn't have!

That is how I do it except I learned (after breaking the tips off of a couple of knives) to bunghole them and you don't have to mess with the pelvis.

Every meat man in the world will tell you gutting your deer is essential to getting their body temp down as quickly as possible. Also, we always age our deer for several day before processing. It will not age as well quartered as it will whole.

As far as quick goes, yup that dude is quick! If it were a trophy buck however he would have ruined alot of cape and made more work for the taxi

That is impressive, but we dont even gut any more. We hang'em, skin'em, 1/4'em, and take the head. We even figured out a way to get the innner tenderloin without gutting. To messy, no need, unless u r along way out in the bush mate.

I'm not near that fast. I do it the same way except I put the deer on the tail gate. I use a bungy cord to hold back 1 front and 1 rear leg. Gravity takes over once you open it up and I rarely get any blood on me.

He's about the fastest I've seen though...

Fine work of speed-gutting right there! If there is ever a competition, I'm putting my money on Quatro Hindes (famed tracking dogs). I honestly think he had a mature buck done in under 30 seconds.

Watched some ranch hands gut deer this way a couple weeks ago. They were fast. Gutted 7 does in a matter of minutes.
