I have never changed strings on a bow but I typically get a new bow about every fourth or fifth season. I am going to hunt a fifth season with my Elite this year and get a new one next year. It has Winner's Choice and I just wax it good and have never really seen a need to change it.
My bow is a 2005 model, and I've never changed it since I've had it the past 5 years. I only shoot like 10 shots a year though. A few to make sure it's shooting true, then 1-2 for the kill.
So does age or number of shots on the string matter more? I keep it waxed.
