I have tried processing my own. I waste more then I get. I used Syracuse's Custom Meats for years and never had this problem that is why I never did it myself. I wish Syracuse would open up a plant in Austin Like they talked about a year ago.

I know it is in south Austin, but Hudsons Meat Market on south Congress does a great job and you always get back plenty of meat.........

I've tried Brizendine's but usually either take it to Hudson's or do it myself. You might try Mike's Barnyard in Liberty Hill.

I used Brizendine's for a number of years, but I got tired of feeding them. I've been processing my own deer and hogs for the past 3 years. Now I can fill a freezer with a hog and a couple of deer, before was another story.

I will NEVER take anything there. When things get pretty busy and they have a few deer piling up in the back, guess how they get the flies off......they spray RAID on them! And I'm not talking about discarded carcasses. I'm talking about deer still needing to be processed.

Which one in Junction? That is where I hunt and will be taking a deer or two to processing. I don't want to take it to the wrong place.

I always take mine to P&R Processing at Hwy183 & FM963 between Lampasas and Briggs.
It may be out of the way alittle but worth it. Fast and Friendly people.

That sucks guys. I have had a similar experience with Kuby's in Dallas (when it was in Highland Park)-1 bag of meat. Then had the exact opposite happen as well.

Before I started doing my own processing, I brought a 50 lb (live weight!) hog into a processor, and I got back a FREEZER FULL OF MEAT! There was no way that was just my pigs meat. It cost me $150 bucks to have a 50 lb pig processed! And it was already quartered!!

I complained, but it did no good. I'll tell you what it did do though...cause them to never see another dime from me or any of my buddies!

Stuff like this spreads fast, bottom line...take care of your customers.

                          J.P.

Been using Brizendines for about five years with no problems.

Never heard anything bad about Hudzon's till Chance mentioned the Raid. You see them doing this?
