    Rattler brand snake proof chaps

I have the Rattler brand snake chaps the ones that are up to my knees. They also make a full leg chap, but it is not as comfortable. These are just pure cordura, like a thick canvas that is gauranteed to be snake bite proof. They are also pretty quiet. The snake guards are light and under $50.00 and like cosmiccowboy said. I have had mine for years and just bought a second pair that my wife or son can use. I have had mine for about 11 years and still have many more.

If money is a problem then you should consider these. They will easily last for a couple of decades.

Just spent a week with the rattlers in South Texas (pics to come later)

I even mowed the grass in my Chippewas and pretty much wore them all week - they have saved me more than once

THERE IS NOTHING BETTER FOR ME than Chippewa's - I think they were $150 - but you can get them for $100 in Ft Worth at the Justin outlet

The all leather ones are around $275 from the King Ranch Saddle Shop, but they are hot as hades in the summer time - the ones Stolle showed are the best all-around boots

Yet another vote for the Redhead zip up. Mine have made it two seasons and are holding up great. I spend a lot of time hunting in the Sabine River bottom so there is plenty of water and mud. They have been comfortable from the first time I put them on. My next pair of snake boots will be another of this model.

I just bought a pair of the knee high Irish Setter zip ups. They are waterproof and zip up the inside, so the zippers won't catch weeds like some of the front zips may do. Very easy to get on and off, unlike my previous lace ups, which were a pain in the arse....$129 at Cabela's.

Thanks again everyone, it is a tight race between the Redheads, Irish Setters, and the Rocky's.

Here are some over-the-knee leggings that zip up...excellent, easy on, easy off, and they protect you from those 9 footers that get you in the knee!!!

They have rods in them to keep them from falling down, yet you can still bend your knees.

I was just over at the Justin outlet last week. They had a rack of Chippewa snake boots that was on sale for $40. Looks like the sizes were all 8, 9, or 10, so I couldn't benefit. I tried on a couple pairs of Chippewa's they had, and ended up with a pair of Rocky's from Cabela's that lace up and also hae azipper down the side to help you get out of them easier. I've been wearing them around the house and out fishing with the boy, and they feel good to me.

Russ, yes, Tiemanns in Priddy is near Hico. They make them on order...about $70-80, as I remember.

I've tried several, and I've found my Danner Pronghorn laceups to be by far the most comfortable one that I've tried. About $200.00, but worth it.

Also, Redhead makes a great new extra long sock for snake boots.
If I didn't think my opinion was right, then it wouldn't be my opinion. So, any other opinion must be wrong, therefore stupid.
