Rest vs Off the shelf

I shot off of a rest for a year or two. There are some advantages but I prefer off the shelf. The shelf has advantages too.

When I did shoot off of a rest I carried a spare in my day pack. Right next to the kitchen sink.

Black Widows have about as good of a shelf as you could ever want to shoot off of. Most custom built bows these days have good shelves. The older stock bows need work.
