I wondered the same thing at first. I watched a tutorial by Chris Hayes on steps to fletching with harvested turkey feathers. Not only did he have the same jig, but he also used a feather burner rather than a chopper.

Congrats on your upcoming trip. Best of luck. When I went to Africa many years ago, I put names of friends and people who would probably never get to go, as both of my trips I went alone and it gave me a bit of a connection to home.

I guess I shouldn't be greedy as my namesake got to run through a Nyala last year. One thing is for certain... I am definitely looking forward to the semi-live thread again. When exactly is the hunt?

Heck, I know we aint never met. But being as how I will more than likely never get over there, I'd be honored if you slapped PENTER on one if you have a shaft needing a name.

Will be in the hides 3 wks from right now as I type! Pretty sure I'm more excited about this trip than I was the last. I can prolly count on one hand the days that I have not looked at pics or been on youtube watching hunts from Africa since the day I knew for sure we were going back!
Hopefully cell coverage will be decent where we are going to be at (don't know for sure as we'll be in a different area than last time) and also hopefully Bisch will be kind enough to keep y'all updated as we go along.

Well, the package my wife and I will be hunting off of has two gemsbok, then 1 of either a blue wildebeest, black wildebeest, or red hartebeest, and 1 of either a springbok, impala, blesbuck, or warthog. After our 4 animals, we can add on anything we want on a trophy fee basis.

Really, most anything is fair game since we didn't knock to big of a dent in them last year. But, at the top of the hit list is kudu (for my wife especially), gemsbok, springbuck (mainly commons but prolly wouldn't pass the opportunity if a black or white one comes along), wildebeest, duiker, stienbuck, and waterbuck. I really really want redemption on an impala and warthog as well so they will not get any passes if a decent one (or two) of either comes in. Also, due to my lack of trust in and overall dislike of horses, I don't know if I could pass up a shot at another zebra .
Lastly, I'm really considering the possibility of a sable. They are by far one of the most strikingly gorgeous critters I think you can find anywhere on the planet. But, they are also one of the more $$$$$ animals as well so we'll just see how it goes. Needless to say, if I do go off the deep end and get one, my "hit list" will shrink quite a bit!

As much as it hurts me to say it, I will not be at the longbow shoot. It was a tough choice between the two, but I'm doing my best to work with the cards I've been dealt....

Any one of the band names listed earlier this week would be quality candidates

I am not buying the "tough choice" statement. Nope. Not one bit.
