61 here and definitely a Baby Boomer.

I have worked continuously since I was 15 years old. That's over 45 years of employment with no break. I have never been on food stamps, disability, or unemployment.

I worked and paid my way through college while I earned my Bachelor's degree. It was not handed to me. I never got a student loan and I never received a penny from my parents (or anyone else).

I have zero debt, and haven't had any for the last twenty years (since I paid off my mortgage after 17 years).

I have always spent less than I earned, and saved and invested the difference. I retired earlier this year because I could. I am not drawing social security and won't be until 66. I am not on Medicare, and won't be until 65.

I abhor debt. Generalizing that all of our country's debt problems are the result of "Baby Boomers having everything handed to them" is just ignorant and offensive.

I would not pay too much attention to what he says. He also thinks it is ok to steal peoples stands when he thinks they have been up for more than 72 hours.

We're going to have to go broke in this country before people wake up.

The glory days are over folks. The baby boomers had everything handed to them and this country forgot how to work. Now they're running the country like every day is Christmas.

John, please allow me to start off apologizing for having made things so hard on you. I, however, really wish that I hadn't been raised on a family dairy where me as we'll as my older siblings started working as early as 4 years old, did it hurt me? Not at all, I learned at a very early age how to work to get what I wanted or needed in life. I worked and paid for every mode of transportation I've ever had as well as kept insurance on them and the gas for them. I was very fortunate to have loving parents that raised me with morals and discipline and were always there for me when I did right but let me know they still loved me when I did wrong but let me know I was wrong. At 28 years of age I was injured in a work related accident, burned over 76% of my body surface with 93% of my burns past 3 rd degree. I wasn't ever suppose to live much less walk again. After 6 months in Parkland Burn Center and 2&1/2 years of reconstructive surgery and therapy I re-entered the work field again in 1985. In 2000, I was forced by the deteriation of my lungs and body to become by lots of TBHers standards a drain on our system. Believe me when I say, I REALLY wish I still had my old body and was still earning a good living where I could "afford" to do things for my family, have a lease, have a newer vehicle, in other words the things that "most" folks take for granted. It would have been nice to have more than my disability pay to help me when i moved my aging parents in and took care of them the last 5 to 10 years of their lives Again I apologize for things being so "hard" for you, I guess you could have it "easy" like me, but I wouldn't even wish this on you! I posted this pistol thing up as a funny for folks here on the traddy side so it wouldn't get butchered up like things do on the campfire side. Thanks Wayne and Bob.
