My first trip to Africa I carrier a 63lb striker recurve. I had complete pass throughs on waterbuck, 2 kudus, and spined a blue wildebeest. The spine stopped the arrow but it did cut all the way through the spine by 2inches. The kudu are narrower than the sable but the waterbuck should be compatible. I would be absolutely confident with the lower poundage bow, especially if I shot it better. btw I used carbon express and Pearson deadheads.

I watched you shoot the 64# at your place, I vote twice for the 64#. If you shoot a sable like you shot foam targets I would bet money you watch him drop. Good luck
