I've shot both Trueflight and Gateway brands. I prefer Gateway since I've found they're more durable, for me, than Trueflight. With that said, I use 5" parabolic right wing helical.

5 inch shield, right helical. Brand not important to me. I don't know if they are noisy
I've been accused of not listening to good.

important note for newbies, you need to match RW or LW feathers with a R or L helical. Seems pretty elementary but some folks might not think about it. I've fletched one wrong before to see what happens. It looks like the arrow is fighting the rotation in flight.

5" or 5 1/2" on most, I find 4" are enough on carbon arrows, but with broadhead bigger is better.

Supposedly they do make a bit more noise than a parabolic. From a shooter's perspective I haven't been able to tell the difference. When I shoot around my compound buddies, they comment on how quiet the set up is. Shields just look cooler so the noise be ****ed.

Also, LW feathers (which would be fletched left helical) will put a counter clock wise spin on your arrow. When the arrow suddenly stops spinning when it hits a target, it will unscrew itself from screw in points. So if you're using carbons/screw in points, it would behoove you to use RW/right helical fletchings.

I use all kinds - parabolic, shield and traditional cut - depending on price and color availability. If I can get a good price on already fletched arrows, then I'll use whatever fletching they came with! If I can get a nice color at a decent price for a right wing feather (I only have a right-wing jig), then I'll get those. Out of the three main brands, though, my preference is Truflight, then AMG, and then Gateway. I've just had better luck with the Truflights holding up better than the rest. And given how badly I shoot, those fletching take a beating with all my misses! But it's all subjective, and as you can see, what one person prefers, another one doesn't like.

I shoot 4-4 inch left wing parabolics....Shorter feathers but more surface area for stability...

Like 3 5" LW Shields, but will shoot whatever you hand me...I miss the same with all of them, lol

Mostly I shoot 5" Trueflight shield cut. Right helical. But occasionally I feel the urge to fletch with 5" Trad cut...

5.5" Shields here. Martha likes that Robin Hood whistle they make flying out of my bow. And after all, it is all about what Martha likes.

4" LW Gateway shield cut with a left helical on a carbon arrow.

Add a little piece of teflon tape to the threads of the tip and they won't unscrew.
