I would not go shorter than 60". Shorter bows can be quite contanquerous!
62" or 64" would be great . The longer bows seem to "easier" to shoot and for a newbie that is important.

I'm going to go with a samick sage from Rhonda and Stan at Smithfield. You can shoot it before you buy it, it hasn't been abused which is a risk you take on EBAY, and they also have the direct person expertise to get you started in the right direction.

Stan taught me how to shoot if that gives the man much credit...
