Anyone ever bend or break a kinetic bullet puller?

Pulling some 222 rounds. They were loaded about a month ago.
Kept in an ammo box in the cabin.
The puller itself is lightly used. Less than 50 rounds, easily. It's about 8 years old.

That is one of the reasons I have a collet puller.

Same. Collet pullers work way better and don't damage the tip.

My Forster collet bullet puller sucks ***.
Trying to get it to work.
Gouged neck & crushed case and bullet is still loaded.

Why was you swinging it so hard? I have used the same kinetic hammer for over 30 years and have never bent the handle.

I have a collet type puller and never use it because of the damage it does to the bullet

Interesting. Have you ever measured the bullet diameter after you squeeze it down in the collet?

I break them often, the smaller, lighter the bullet is, the more likely to break your bullet puller. Big heavy bullets take a lot less force to get them to come out of the case.

That thug lasted you a long time, guess you don’t pull light bullets often?

About three years ago, I was loading some small caliber round, then needed to pull bullets. I broke three bullet pullers in a weekend. I started off with my old RCBS, then went to Academy and bought a Franklin Armory puller, broke that one within a couple minutes. I went everywhere I could think of to try and get another RCBS puller, had to go back to Academy and get another Franklin Armory puller. I shattered the cap that screws down on the collet, did that within a couple of raps.
Those blue bullet pullers, are made of plastic that shatters much easier than an RCBS puller.

Frankfurt ! I have the large RCBS that they don’t make anymore - it’s a much larger unit than any other kinetic made! I have the lead ingot that I use to knock the fire out of it. No need to bend or disfigure tips , I put a 3/4” piece of ethyl foam in the boolit catching end and I’ve never messed up a projectile! I do have collet pullers but they do blemish the sides of the projectiles from where they grab them and there isn’t any working around that unless they produce a very high end Collet puller that I don’t know about!

Because the bullet won't come out.

You must use a lot of neck tension. .002 is max for me.

Yeah, I don't recall pulling the the 222 before.
I pulled some 223s with fmj bullets, but grabbed the bullet with pliers because I didn't want to upset/spill/change the powder charge.
I seated some Barnes bullets in those.

I guess. Whatever a regular RCBS die does.

Do you have a lot of them to do? If you can shoot them might be best way. I would suggest to anneal your brass as well, real hard brass will create a lot of neck tension too .

I'm wanting to pull, because I just shot and got some split necks. I'm checking to make sure my trim length is correct, or if possibly my chamber is short. 788 Remington

Most wer just in spec, 2 were out, and one was short, for whatever reason. I'm going to go ahead and take a little bit more off of them.
