94 Xtr vs. 336 Marlin

I guess Marlin wins. I am a Marlin guy started collecting them over 40 years ago.

Since your 94 is an XTR.. it is a later version… I only like pre-64 and pre-war 94’s… I also like JM stamped or earlier Marlins… I pick up a 94.. when I want an open sight 30-30… If I want a scoped one.. I go with the Marlin…

Where do i find the jm stamp?
I was told my marlin is stamped but never have seen it or even know where it would be.

on the barrel, usually close to the receiver.
sometimes it's a partial strike/stamp and kinda hard to cipher.
