    Shotgun choke stuck

I've got a Stoeger M2000 12g and I can't for the life of me get the choke out of it. I bought it used and that was the choke that came in there. I have a little cheapo choke tool and got nowhere with that. Bought a better one online but still not having any luck. Taking to gunsmith is my next move but I thought I would check on here and see if anyone had any tips or tricks for getting one unstuck?

If you have some way to heat up some oil & stick the end of the barrel in it & let it soak. Always use grease on the choke tubes.

Soak it in some penetration lube for a few hours.

Get some Kroil and try it. Most penetrating stuff in the world.

I had to take mine to Brileys in Houston to let them get it out.

Have you tried PB Blaster or alike? If you have a plastic covered dead blow hammer. Or solid rubber mallet strike the end of the barrel (unloaded of course) a few times. Then try removing.

I have used the cheap tool that came with the gun and a larger crescent wrench. First I used some WD-40 and tried to get some down between the choke tube and the barrel. I did that multiple times and waited 30ish minutes in between with the barrel pointed up so it would drain downwards. Then I had my brother hold the gun as secure as possible while I put the choke tube tool in the choke, and clamped the wrench to the tool. Some brute force and it broke free. I then inspected and cleaned up the threads of the barrel very well. Be sure to always apply a light layer of grease to the threads when inserting the choke tube, and take them out to clean them/apply grease when you clean the gun.

Never tried it myself, but I've heard about people taking the barrel off and putting it in the oven to heat the barrel up and make it easier to break the choke tube free. Try at your own risk, lol.

                  This

Take barrel off and soak it for a day or two. All briley is gonna do is use a removal tool thats available on midway and brownells

I used a hair dryer to put some heat on the barrel while applying a penetrating oil on a few stuck ones over the years

I would try this. It doesn’t take much heat to make the barrel expand. Good luck with it.

This is your best bet. Heat it up in a vice and keep working it out. Moving forward always put a SMALL amount of choke tube grease and you won't have the issue moving forward.

Put penetrating oil in an old coffee can or similar.
Put bbl/choke end in oil thats in can
                          Soak overnight
                          Try to remove choke
If it doesn’t free up use a heat gun on bbl while keeping pressure on choke wrench

50/50 mix of ATF and acetone in a bowl, put muzzle in bowl and soak over night. Remove choke.

We’ve used a blow dryer successfully in the past. I’d try this before putting into the the oven.
