    AB Suppressors

Anyone have first hand experience with them? I almost pulled the trigger on one Friday. I really like the design with the recess over the barrel. Also, do I lose sound suppression using a .30 cal can for say a .223 or .243?

You will lose a little efficiency, but not a lot.

Are you saying this as an opinion or as a fact? I’ve been told it will sound better than my dead air Nomad. This is just an opinion but from guys that are around them regularly.

If that’s the case I want one

You will barely notice a difference using smaller calibers with a 30 cal can but you can tell you shoot enough. Noticeable on my nomad and nomad Ti shooting 6mm and 223. Short can too though. I’m no help on AB.

Thanks Matt, my bolt action .223 is threaded 5/8-24 factory so I just assume stick with the .30cal. I’m really intrigued with the design of the AB Suppressor.

Yeah just buy .30 cans. No point in the smaller bore ones unless you just want more cans. Then by all means rock on!

Any suppressor manufacturer will tell you that when using a smaller caliber than the can you lose a little efficiency. I shoot a 6.5 through a 30 cal can and it works well. If you put a sound meter on it, you will find that small loss in efficiency. Just listening to it, it sounds good. I like it, and I'm not going to buy a dedicated can just for 6.5. I own 2, and with those can suppress 6 different rifles so I'm around them pretty often. I can and do shoot off my back porch if I see something out there I want or needs to be gone. I seldom shoot without a suppressor anymore. This is what I'm using on the 6.5

I'm on the fence on getting an AB suppressor as well. Robert actually recommended it for the 300wm I picked up from APR. It's between that and a TBAC for me.

I ran an AB Raptor Suppressor with the Reflex mount on my Seeking Havak PH2 6.5 PRC last hunting season. Extremely quiet and I must say the Reflex does help reduce even more muzzle jump. Dropped 2 pigs, 1 coyote and 3 big bodied south Texas whitetails all in their tracks. Every shot was dead on like the day I had it zeroed in.

                      I have no complaints.

What size raptor and reflex are you running?
