I just bought a Ruger American with a plain black synthetic stock and this thread has made me more than excited about getting it looking good.

I'm probably not much help on the Krylon webbing paint. I've only used automotive paints to spray the stocks I've done. I have seen it at the box stores before though.

One thing I failed to mention before, the synthetic stock will not sand the same as a wooden one. Even when you use fine grit, it will still have a "velvet" feel to it. The plastic doesn't sand off like other substances. Don't let that worry you. Once you have it sanded( I go down to about 400 grit or so), spray the adhesion promoter and then prime it. Then you should be able to paint it whatever color you want then do the webbing. You can clear over it with whatever sheen you want, gloss, satin or flat.

The stock pictured above is a synthetic stock that I did many years ago. Not really my thing but it's what the guy wanted.

Might consider gettin the stock hydrodipped. Buckfan50 in magnolia does it and looks great. Had my 308 and 22mag done. Turned out great.

You might look into duracoat as well.

Finding the original Krylon webbing paint is hard as they discontinued it. They have something else but can’t remember what it’s called....

If I’m not mistaken it’s now called Marbleing paint or something of that nature.

I bought a whole case of this and did 3 stocks. One Browning Xbolt, a Browning Abolt and a Remington 770. Each came out excellent and the new finish is tough as nails.
