    Painting synthetic stock

Looking to jazz up my abolt stock. It’s matte black but thinking about green with black webbing. Does anyone have any recommendations or process steps?

    Thanks

Get it clean. And have fun, I used a matte clear for final coat. I did a few with painting action and barrel if you really want it cool

Another option would be A mossy oak gun sticker . I did this on one of mine and get tons of compliments because I made some custom cut outs. It’s easy to install and a heat gun makes it super easy work through the big curves of the stock. Plus if u don’t like it you peel it off with no residue .

The stuff made for plastic and the camo colors. Then matte clear

there's a thread on what you're looking for in DIY. Good luck and have fun! Worst case spray paint is easy to strip.

Yep. Follow the link above. I’ve done a few rifles and it’s super easy

I've painted several synthetic stocks for competition shotguns. One thing I would suggest is to go to an automotive paint store and purchase a spray can of adhesion promotor. It will really help the primer or paint adhere to the plastic.

Also be sure to keep it clean. Can't be stressed enough. I like to use a cleaning prep solvent made especially for paint prep. Prep-sol works well.

Thank you Dave, just the info I’m looking for.

Where can you find the krylon webbing paint. Not at Walmart or Lowe’s this morning. Maybe a large paint store?

I couldn’t find it on the shelf. Ended up buying it on Amazon

                          I’ve done a few.

                          Get it clean
                          Light coat of adhesion promotor
Sever light coats of paint of your choice. I used krylon
Krylon marbled webbing paint order from amazon
                          Several coats of clear.

Keep it clean and let it dry between coats.
