    Bullet puller?

Bought some ammo that is reloaded

    75gr HP over 57gr of powder .270

I pulled one with a inertia type hammer puller to verify load that was marked on box

But I do not want to use it 79 more times
I need suggestions for a good alternative

I have no use for 4 boxes of these but I can pull the bullets and use them in my 6.8 and re use the primed brass
If I could verify the powder some way I would reuse it too but I have no idea how to identify (if that is even possible?) it so it will most likely get dumped in a ziplock and have a tablespoon or so of water added and then tossed in the trash
Unless someone has a suggestion on what to do with it

You can have lots of fun with mystery powder all of which require a match. No way I would just throw it out. Sure you can think of some entertaining way to burn it for giggles.

I don't know of another way, without firing the round, or damaging the case to get the bullet out. I would plan on getting a pan to put the power in, sit in the driveway drinking some beer and start hammering away. Lighter bullets are definitely harder to get out, than heavy bullets.

Also, if you don't want to burn the powder you can use it for fertilizer

I got started in reloading by buying a belt of 7.62 NATO (.308), pulling the bullets and weighing the powder from about a dozen or so of the rounds, then pulled all the bullets, dumped the powder and neck sized the cases (after you pull the bullet, it's just like shooting it. You have to resize before loading.) and put in some 150 gr. Hornady Spier Points. I had about 350 rounds. I hunted with them for years!

You can get yourself a RCBS bullet puller that works in a press. It makes pulling bullets much more controllable. It works just like a bullet seating tool only in reverse. Evey reloading bench should have one.

If you have a press and a pair of pliers, this method worked well for me:

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRsRbEJO9-M"]How to pull bullets without specialized tools[/ame]

I pulled the bullets from about 50 rounds of 300 WSM. Using pliers damaged the bullets to the extent that I couldn't re-use them but wanted to use different bullets anyway.

I used a pair of welding pliers (MiG pliers) for a little extra grip on the bullet. Worked great!

Get a RCBS collet puller, and order it with a .270 collet. you can salvage the bullets, then. Goes pretty fast with those too.

Collet did would be what you need. As mentioned above.

Here is one to look at, I have not used one but seriously considering adding one to my bench. I hate using an inertia puller.

I have the Hornady collet puller and the Grip-n-Pull.

Both are hit and miss depending on bullet design and seated depth. If you can’t grip below the start of the Ogive your going to have problems.

                          Bullet puller?

I use the grip n pull and it works every time unless the bullet is seated too deep like Brent mentioned.

I’ve never use a collet style puller.

Shameless plug, somehow I ended up buying an extra grip n pull for standard rifle (up to 30 caliber I think). I’ll make you a deal on it if you would like to go that route.

If you pull your own bullets, the GRIP-N-PULL is the #1 piece of reloading equipment you need. The patented GRIP-N-PULL makes collets and inertia pullers history! Tired of impact pullers? Gripnpull is cleaner, faster, quieter, and easier.

I have a RCBS collet bullet puller and I believe I have a .270 collet that you are welcome to borrow. I'm in Tyler.
