Don't ask don't tell. It isn't hazardous or flammable and it isn't any of their **** business. Have it packed up before you get there, make sure you remove or cover any labels on the box that could indicate it is a firearm or firearm part.

**INSURANCE** -- one big thing to remember about insurance, if you end up needing to file a claim as I did recently (on a reamer, not a firearm)-- you MUST have HARD documentation of the value. In my case I purchased a brand new reamer, had my barrel chambered and sold it to a gunsmith in Idaho. It never made it--

When I filed my claim (insured value was $175 but the reamer cost me $220) it was initially rejected by USPS, big surprise. I had attached my original order invoice (showing PAID) that had my cost of the reamer. USPS said they would not take emailed/e-invoice but would require and take proof of payment via credit card bill, paypal transaction receipt, etc.

Interestingly enough, when I provided that documentation they paid the FULL VALUE not just the insured amount. So I thought that was pretty cool and good on them for taking care of it.

Just remember documenting value for an insurance claim could get tricky with a firearm, especially USED.

I showed them the code and a BATF statement/decision to the subject. They still said the letter from their postmaster said not to.
