Out of those choices, I would go with the 7 mag. 160 Accubond and you would be set for just about any animal in the states. Would be a good compliment to you Creed.

I’m not saying they aren’t manageable. They certainly are. But you’ll certainly know you’re shooting a magnum. I’m very partial to the 300 win. PRC blows its doors off though. That thing is a rocket.

You can stay partial to the 300 WM It only has about 2 gr less case capacity than the PRC...........so it's not really giving up anything to the PRC beyond 50 fps or so. I can't find my notes, but I did a capacity test of some of the popular big 30's a while back when I was setting up my 30-28 reamer. I did 300 WM, 300 PRC, 30 Nosler,30-28 Nosler and 300 NM. Only about a 7 gr difference in volume across the entire lineup. The 30 Nos is probably the most "balanced" design of the bunch, and ironically....the least available.

Sorry to take the thread off track, OP. If you don't mind the recoil, a big 30 is never the wrong choice in a do everything NA hunting rig. If recoil is an issue, the 7's can cover a lot of ground as well.

Heck my buddies is getting 3200 or so with 210s if I recall correctly. It’s insane.

I don't doubt it at all. I had the 30-28 up in the mid 3200's with 215s without any traditional pressure signs on virgin brass. Pretty sure I was mid 70s on real world pressure though. Good brass and good actions do a great job of hiding pressure signs sometimes.

If I wanted to go bigger, I’d just make the jump to either a 28 Nosler or a 30 caliber.

Now, that's funny right there! I would agree with 6.5 CM is a good round for deer and antelope size game but for elk, no way! And I don't say that because the ballistics are not there to take down an elk. I say it because about every 6.5 CM owner I have talked to thinks they are a long range specialist and would have no problem shooting at elk at 6,7,800+ yards.

That are both GA Precision and both weigh 8.5.

                        less the 15 ft/lb recoil

270 with 150 same with a little more recoil
