I shot a new 18" PSA upper this past weekend with the same results. 9" SST and 1.25" ELD.

At least there are a few new factory ammo options out. Seeing a Remington High Performance Rifle 120 BTHP and a Barnes 115 TTSX. Curious to see how they do.

I’ve built 2 both with radical firearms 20” 1:9 twist barrel and both love the 123 gr sst. We shoot the eld at paper and they group the same as the sst.

ELD? What is that? Extra Long Distance?

OP hate you are having issues with your Grendel, always heard they were tack drivers. Ammo is key for accuracy and I agree with about Hornady ammo.

Mine shoots lights old... except for the “most preferred ammo”

          ELD- “extra low drag”

            ELD, some type of boattail?

Yessir, that was always been my experience with preferred ammo. The exception was Winchester Ballistic Silvertips.

Well son, I hope you find what you want. Grendel is a thumper.

Since the Grendel became a SAAMI standard, I have seen quality of Hornady ammo for it be very good to bad. When I got my first Grendel Hornady was new to the game and the ammo shot very well. In my first Grendel the amax loads were sub MOA while the SSTs were not quite as accurate but dang close in my rifle. In the boltaction Grendel I just shoot reloads but the AR still shooting SST factory until I bought 2 boxes that shot like crap, I ran one of those boxes across the chrono and there was almost 200fps extreme spread.

It will cost more but if you want moe consistnent Grendel ammo look at soe of the smaller ammo manyfactures like Custom reloads of Dallas or Precision Firearms. Best ammo though is to carefully load your own.

I also experienced the same exact thing in my AR Stoner upper. Eld M was around 1.25 in and the SST was all over the place.

Killed piles of hogs and couple deer with the hornady black eld ammo.
PSA upper groups inch and a half or so at 100. Rarely shoot further than 150 so its great for me.
Bullet performs great also. Head shots. Shoulder shots, whatever is available.

Just seeing this thread..I have never been a fan of Hornady factory ammo..When the Superformance ammo came out in 25-06,I thought great! I won't have to load 25 ammo anymore.Boy,was I wrong. On a side note. The Winchester Supreme shoots as good as the hand loads.I'll never buy another loaded bullet from Hornady.
