    Boyd’s stocks

Are all of there stocks this big of a pain in the *** to install? I wanted to buy a couple of these but after a couple hours with a drimmel tool and the safety still not working properly I am not sure it’s worth it. I am going to buy another couple tips for the drimmel tool and give it another go but are there any other tips?

We put one on a Ruger M77 Tang safety. Dropped right in.

I've bought 3 or 4. All but one dropped in without alteration. I sent one back that needed a lot of fitment and reordered it. The replacement dropped right in.

I couldn’t get my Ruger Predator seated well enough for my liking and had to bring it in. Was a bit surprised as I’m pretty handy and a DIY guy; it’s great now though.

Well.. there is that and not being patient enough to wait on the right drimmel tips but the **** safety kicks off if you pull the trigger. That might be problematic.

I had to send a Boyd's stock back to the factory once. They didn't even cut it for the receiver. When I called they asked if I wanted to try to cut it myself. SMH.
I still have 3 or 4 other Boyd's stocks and each one did require a small amount of fitting but nothing that required replacing worn out dremel bits.

I’ve got a couple, they needed minor fitting. I think they offer good stocks for the money.

I got one for a Savage 111 with the push button mag release. I was concerned about fit but it went right in.

Did you have to buy any extra parts to get your Savage 111 to fit? I'm thinking about getting one for my Savage 11 but it looks like you have to buy some bottom metal or plastic insert. Its kind of a pain to figure out exactly what you need.

It's not a pain at all. Call savage with your serial number and they will give you the part numbers, prices and will ship them to you. I did that with an 11 that I had. They were very helpful.

If your stock doesn’t already have a metal bottom but instead just has a plastic well the magazine goes into, you will need to buy the bottom metal. One of mine is a custom I made out of a Savage action that was already in an Accustock that had the bottom metal.
