Ruger Number 1's are ok but I like a Winchester or Browning High Wall better.
The only #1 I own is chambered in 416 Rigby. The rifle shoots ok considering it is using over 100 grs of powder and knocking the snot out of you off the bench.

You’ll be first in line when I get ready. Gotta make it through Christmas first!

Rarely do I doubt your information but my understanding from Ruger was that they were no longer making the #1 as a standard production rifle they would be making limited runs every year with 10 to 15 diffeeent chamberings and or configurations

I got my info from a quick search of No. 1 rifles available on Buds Gun Shop. They list 30+ chamberings as some of those rifles could be “new, old stock”. I agree that Ruger has decreased yearly overall production of the No. 1. They still make limited production runs for certain wholesalers in non-standard chamberings. I.e. 7.62x39, 9.3x74, 264 WM, etc..

OP can definitely find what he’s looking for on GunBroker. There are approx. 15 No. 1’s chambered in 6mm (NIB and used) with prices ranging from $1095 to $1500. If he wants a brand new production rifle in 6mm from Ruger, no telling if and when that will ever happen.

Ruger just released 125 units chambered in .280 AI, but hurry, because 50 of them already have homes. That would be a great all around caliber......

Ive been eyeing gunbroker. I was just wondering how often they offer new calibers.

Might contact Jimmy at Bullet Works in Breckinridge. He collects a few of the number 1. He might be able to help you. Good luck with your search.
