FFL has to keep records for 20 years.

Your best be is at the Academy where you bought it. They will by law have to keep the records for 20 years.

    Good luck.

If you still have the original box they generally have the numbers on them.

Glad it's 20 years and not 5. Headed to check with them tomorrow. Thanks!

I thought I had it, but it's nowhere to be found unfortunately. Thanks though for the suggestion.

I understand that. What I mean is Academy has not been electronic on their 4473 for that long. They only have in storage electronically what they have done in sales from that time on. Everything else is stored onsite in filing cabinets.

Yeah, anything you can do to pinpoint the purchase date will go a long way in helping Academy help you...if you used a CC, maybe contact them & see if they can assist.

Good luck...hope everyone here is taking note on the importance of keeping a record of their make, model & SN's

Yup. Learned my lesson when I accidently left a range bag with multiple Glocks, several magazines and a bunch of other assorted stuff in my truck. Really long, exhausting day and thought I brought it in. Some scum bag slim jim'd my window and took the bag. luckily I had the original boxes with the serial numbers. That's been about 6 years ago. Never heard a peep.

Keep the faith...I got a Beretta 84 back when it was stolen out of my Dad's truck around 7-8 years later.

I'm assuming LE automatically files a lost / stolen firearm report to get into the BATFE system.

Well maybe one day! Then I'll have more Glocks to accompany the ones I replaced them with.

Good luck OP. Hope you are able to get the info.

Went by Academy today and the manager took my ID and went to the back. He came out with a printout with all kinds of shipping/delivery, purchase date, etc info on the gun and the serial number. Acted as if he does it all the time. Thanks for the help guys and now I'll just wait to see if they find their way back home one day!
