    Over and under recommendation

    Hey guys!

Im looking to buy a new to me 12ga over and under.
I have not shot many and honestly, dont have many places to look.

What would you guys recommend for around $1k?

Dont mind buying a used one if its worth it.

It will pretty much be used as a dove gun.

Used citori is a good one that can be found in that price range, i am sure there are others. Find a quality one that fits or have it fitted

You ever make it up to San Antonio? At some trap and skeet ranges you can try different guns out. It helps to shoot them and then go from there. What works for someone might not for you ie. ergonomics, barrel length etc.

I concur with this statement. I purchased a 95%+ Citori 12ga last year for $625 from Gunbroker. Last month I bought a 90%+ Citori 20ga for the wife for $675. Keep your eye on the auction sites for deals. They are out there just gotta be persistent. By the way, both B guns are a delight to shoot, doves don't care for them too much though........

The one that fits. Don’t look at brand don’t look at price. If it don’t fit it ain’t worth a dollar.

I got a weatherby orion last year, I like it a lot. If the dove would cooperate it would be even better.

I actually like my Yildiz and don't have to worry about getting it scratched up. Its def not a Citori, but it cost half as much.

Can’t help much as most of my experience in shooting them is 3-15 times your budget but I agree find one that fits you and test shoot one if you can. I have shot multiple Beretta DT11’s or Krieghoff K80s and hated them compared to my Beretta SV10 Prevail.

I haven't shot them all, but quite a few. Always come back to my Red Label.

I have a red label 12 that I like to shoot. It is fill camo with synthetic stocks so I am not too worried about dinging it I got it for a G used. Got a Citori Lightening this past weekend, havent shot it yet, but man it feels good and is quick to shoulder.
