FFP you'll rarely use unless using the subtendions on anything other than max power.
I looked at the that one, nice glass but the rest of the scope didn't impress me.

Your probably right about the FFP, just keep thinking there will be times I will want to use the holdover on a lower power.

I have several of them. I actual use them fir the intended purpose. I KNOW they work. A lot of folks give recommendations with little to no experience. Just keep that in mind. I'm not saying the vx6 is the best. But in that price range it is.

What did you not like? Did you handle an mk6? And why would you hold over at low power? Do you have much LR experience?

Why would you ever use hold over at a lower power??? Just dial it. And if you did have to use hold over you'd be far enough out to use max power.

That is what I thought. Wind and walking calls are different. But I usually base those on my hold not my marks anyway.

I'm one of those that doesn't use much magnification while hunting, my scope generally stays on it's lowest power unless I'm shooting across the wheat field. I wouldn't ever use 20X plus magnification on a deer. I'm also used to only using holdover while hunting, sometimes your shot opportunity is too short otherwise. Now for target shooting I'll crank it up and use dial in.

I have a VX-6, 3-18x44, illuminated, alumina caps, with box and paperwork/original accessories in excellent condition that will fit under your budget....

                          I'd take the Leupold
VX6 HD with the illuminated TMOA reticle and 2 turn zero lock turrets over any of those.

Will be hard pressed to find one in your budget as they are new for this year.

I haven't looked through or shot behind the Gen 2 PSTs yet but the Gen 1 wouldn't even be a consideration given my past experience.

This one would be another one to consider and well within your budget.
