    Scope for 1K and hunting

I recently picked up a new toy, a 300WSM set up for shooting 200 grainers at long distances and need a scope for it. Primary use will be shooting at 1000 yards for fun and skill building but also some possible wheat field hunting. Budget is $1200ish and looking for something in the 6-24 power range, prefer MOA/MOA, zero stop would be nice, and undecided on FFP or SFP. After looking at my LGS I have it mostly narrowed down to 3 scopes but I am open to other suggestions.

Burris XTR 5-25x50: Slightly better optics than the other 2, all the features I want, best FOV, the only negative is the SCR MOA marks are almost unusable at 5x.

Nightforce SHV 5-20x56:should be the best in low light, while the turrets take a lot of turns, there's no missing each click, built like a tank, slightly lower mag

Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5-25x50; not out yet, but got to try a GenI. FFP reticle is a good compromise between usability at low power and precision at high power, best illumination, heard QC can be questionable

Thoughts? If the Burris had the Vortex's reticle I wouldn't even be posting this question.

    I'll always take the nightforce.
One other I would look at is the zeiss conquest HD-5.
    It's a 5-25x50 and it's great.

The glass in NF scopes isn't worth the prices in NXS and below. The durability might be worth it if you're gonna be really rough on it but I'd rather have better glass for my uses.

I enjoy my Burris xtr ! Better than the mark 4 I had previously! But If I were you I'd save another 400 and find a mark 6 in good used condition and never look back

Even better. My mark 6 is better glass than my NF NXS was and almost 10oz lighter. Nice turrets zero stop as well

                        NF Fan here.
SFP If you want to zoom in and see what you are shooting.
FFP if you are going to use scope for ranging.

None of the 3. I'd go VX6 WAY over those. 3-18x50 with the TMOA.

FFP you'll rarely use unless using the subtendions on anything other than max power.
