I'm more likely to leave my range finder than my phone, lol! You're right, though - if battery dies, you're out of luck. Same is true of your range finder or any other electronics you're using to generate solutions. Better know how to range with your reticle, just in case.

I've noticed quite a few G7s going up for sale lately. I bet it has something to do with this one coming out

      G7 Rangefinder

I was about to pull the trigger on the Leica geovid binoculars but wasn't totally sold on their ballistic calculator onboard.

I had pretty much decided to go with the G7's. Basically minimize my steps. I still see the G7 as the only solution for me to do this. If I'm wrong let me know.

I don't mind the gadgets at the range but I really want to minimize the gear while hunting. I want to stop relying on the phone apps 100% while hunting.

Will the K2400 do that? Looks like it is still tied to an app/phone.

      I want to
      1. Range/get solution in the same step
      2. Read wind
      3. Dial elevation/hold wind
      4. Shoot

Either the k2400 will I still need to have a step 1.a. Open phone app and calculate solution.

Thanks for all the info fellas. I have looked into the kilo 2400 but was wondering if it was as good or a better solution than the G7 which is only a couple hundred bucks more. I have a kestrel meter that I use but getting good wind down range is tough anyway if it's over 8-10 mph and mirage isn't good. However, I'm not going to be shooting in canyons and mountains though. Been running my rig over a magnetospeed and feel I have pretty dang close numbers on velocity. I do like the fact that the G7 is an all in one package and not reliant on a phone app like the K2400(unless I missed something in one of the posts and the K2400 isn't either)

Edit: just saw Horitexan's post that said the K2400 doesn't need the phone app

Thank ya sir. Found that video this morning as well. It looks like the only thing you'll need a cell phone for is the initial setup of your ballistics to transfer from the app to the rangefinder on a one-time basis or make corrections (unless, of course, you need to enter another cartridge) so I can definitely handle that as it's not needed in the field.

Really like the video and quick explanation of it. Good looking RF and definitely want to get my hands on one.

Wish I could afford one but my current build is sapping any extra $$ I've got. Lol

I have one and it is an amazing tool that simplifies the long range shooting game more than any one single item that I can imagine.

If you shop around for a good used 1st generation, you can save a bundle.

X2. Didn't think about that. Could possibly call Gunwerks and see if they have any left in stock and maybe get a great deal on one

Word on the street is NightForce is going to stop using the G7 and now using the Sig for their long range setups. The sig has proven better at long range distances more consistently. FYI...

Interesting. The review I posted compared measurements to a Vectronix PLRF and it showed that the K2400was dead-nutz even past Sig's claimed distances. Maybe switching will help NF keep the street price down a bit.

There's a pretty good group buy over on Snipers Hide.

You can use it with any scope.

Op I love em. I used a borrowed one. I just can't decide between it and a Leica Geovid HD-B
