What's the best process for slicking up a stiller action. I've been dealing with a sticky one for a couple months and want to get it running smooth.

I don't think he coated the bolt, it's black but all the tac30s I've seen are. I haven't contacted them about it. I have little doubt they would make it right but I don't want to be out the rifle right in the middle of hunting season. I don't mind working on something simple like this and seeing if I can smooth it before contacting them.

I'd sure be having a conversation with Stiller AND my smith. Why would the smith not have noticed and corrected this issue before completing the build? I hear ya about not wanting to be without it mid-season, though. I think I'd try some Flitz polishing compound on the lugs. That may solve the issue or, at least, mitigate it until the end of the season.

I've got no suggestions but thought I'd add this.
I actually noticed this on several stiller actions I fondeled not too long ago, which really surprised me! I mentioned it to others who were with me and they felt the same way and I was told that's just how stiller is. I would have expected the action to be slicker than silk!
I then compared it to a defiance.... the defiance was BUTTER smooth.
I'm pretty sure I know which way I'm going for my next build!
