I have an opportunity to get a good deal on this Savage 11 in 6.5 Creedmoor. I've had a Remington 700 for over 20 yrs and have never shot a savage. Does anyone on the green screen have experience with the model 11 or solid insight? I'd certainly appreciate any advice. Functions for the rifle would be whitetail hunting in Rocksprings area (pretty open territory). Starter rifle into long range target shooting past 500yds. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

I'm into this rifle for around $2k and it keeps up with my custom rigs costing 3X-4X as much $$$.

There great rifles. Very accurate right out of the box. I don't prefer them over others mainly due to aesthetics and the fact I like to tinker on them. Sure you can swap barrels in the garage, but try to buy an aftermarket stock, bottom metal etc. They have made small changes to the design so many times that getting the right aftermarket parts can be a challenge. Not so with the Remington.

And ditto what Luke said above.
