This is what will be going on mine when I finally pick it up. Leupold 1.25-4 VX-R with an illuminated German #4 reticle should be hard to beat.

Remembered having a 4x32 tucked away so I figured I'd dust off and pair her up with the H&H.......it's a purdy match

Did you ever try grouping it with the open sights for grins??

It is SOOOO much fun getting a kill with 'traditional' sights.

I have not put a round down the pipe yet, trying to change that this wknd. The glass might come off somewhere down the road just for the sole purpose you stated above.

Really kicking around looking for one of these to go on at some point down the road. Got the 2.5-10x56mm on my LR308 and for target acquisition and follow up shots on moving target the sight picture you get with the accupoint post is amazing!

Yep, have an old school vari-x 3 on mine. It's a classic combo on a Model 70.

I have a Vortex Razor 1-6, that would be even better for a true 1X and also seems to have better eye relief. High power scopes can bite you on the 375.

It really depends on what you plan to do with it. I've used a 1.75x6 Leupold and it served me well. I killed everything from duiker to buff with it, including a leopard and lion in Tanzania both under 20 yards. So if you are going to hunt something that can bite you, I'd stick to low power
