In my 308 I've shot lots of factory hornady 150gr SST. Most all of my shots have been DRT or ran 10-20yrds. I will say the bullet almost always separates the jacket from the core and almost never leaves an exit resting on the offside right under the hide. Don't expect a blood trail, so a marginal shot will be difficult at best to track.
Lots of people will argue that the bullet "failed" due to separation, but if the game is down I think the bullet did it's job. Shoulder or rib shots will leave about a fist sized entry wound and innards will be mush.
These have been my results on many hogs and deer killed.
