    Let's talk Scopes

Well I finally found my new rifle today and need help on deciding what scope to put on it. Here is what I bought.

Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor. I was thinking about a Burris Illuminate. I am wanting a Long range gun but still shoot 100-300 yards. I like the built in range finder but do I just buy a better hand held range finder and get a dang good scope. So if any of you long range guys have any suggestions let's hear them.

            For scope & rangefinder?

I would not buy them as one unit as they typically suffer in one area or the other.

Get a Sig Kilo 2000 rangefinder and buy an SWFA scope or maybe a Nightforce SHV.

Swarovski z5. Best glass in the $ range and more than enough scope for your shot range

If I was looking with your price range I would look at a nice range finder like the Sig Kilo and look at the Burris XTRII series, Bushnell 3.5-21, SWFA, or Nightforce. I will say i am happy with my 3-15 SWFA easy to hunt with in the 100-300 yard range but still easily capable to dial out to 1000 for shooting steel. Good luck in your search there are a lot of good options in your price range and the 6.5 will definitely reach way out there.

I'll save you a couple bucks and suggest the Vortex HS-T 6-24x50. We've been shooting the RPR in 6.5 with this set up and its so so sweet.

I agree with the Swarovski Z5 as far as glass its the best I have owned.
But I do really like the Bushnell LRHS if your looking for FFP it is a great scope.

Is what I'd buy if I had $1,000-$1500 to drop on a scope. You can order it on bearbasin for a smooth $1299

Sightron SIII 6-24x50 LR FFP and you can get it with either mrad or moa reticle with matching turrets. I have the mrad scope with the mil-hash reticle and have been really happy with it so far. Glass is excellent and repeatable true tracking. Lots of scope for the money.
