    SBR Input Please

I'm looking for thoughts on SBR's. How many is the right quantity? Percentage and number wise how many of your AR's are SBR? I'm trying to figure out if I should submit another lower. Do I really "need" to or is what I have pending enough...

    Also, pictures would be great.

Any of you have a SBS you can show off? Worth going that route?

Depends on what you have pending...

SBS in my opinion, are worthless...

This is just my opinion but I will never own another AR that isn't SBR. That's just me.

Ditto. But I'm not selling my Colt 6920.

It is the only non SBR AR that I own though.

I haven't shot my 18" competition ar since getting my sbr approved. Thinking about registering a couple more lowers.

I agree that SBR's are great, but am I going overboard on registering right now? So how many are we talking (you have 5 and all 5 are SBR, 10, 15)?

I'm not going to SBR my 6920 or any of may Ar-10's.

It depends on the mission I like having several SBR lower receivers that I can put any link barrel on to suit my needs.

With all the nonsense I've considered sbring a couple more lowers (like everyone else) but can't afford uppers. Nor do I know what those uppers may be. Are people just saying generic 556 and dimensions, then filing amendments when they know what will be on it?

Can I have 3 sbr lowers and only 1 short upper?

I was thinking 4 total. 556 red dot close quarters, 556 scope varmint, 300, dedicated 22.

I thought the trick was to "multi-cal" the lower with Btaf so that any short upper you may throw on top is good to go?

Multi-cal will get it kicked back now. You aren't limited to only putting a single caliber on it, as long as you can return it to it's original, stamped configuration.

I'm curious as to the multiple short upper but only one registered SBR lower question as well.

After my first I haven't gotten an AR that wasn't an SBR.

No. You must list a caliber on the form as well as barrel length and overall length (with collapsible stock fully extended).

You can make any temporary change you want as long as it can be put back to the original configuration that it was filed on.

If you sell the upper and replace with another of different caliber or length you have to file an amendment.

Thanks guys. I ordered an Obsidian and SBR'd some more lowers. I did 4 SBR form 1's. Two are 5.56, a .300bo and a C-9. May do one or two more before all said and done.

I have two .762 cans, a .22 can and the .45 pistol can is on order.

I looked at a few M-16's but the ones I liked were in the 15k - 25k range. Even sear packs are really expensive now.

Anything else you can suggest that I may need? Looking for ideas.

Would like to know this as well, also if a lower is filed Form 1 would the gun HAVE to be built or could it wait and be built at later date after approvals? I have a form 4 sbr but was going to Form 1 a couple of stripped lowers to have and build up. Haven't done a Form 1 yet so was just looking for clarification on that.
