Open Carry - will you show?

I am offering a $10 reward to the first person that posts a legitimate link to a news story in the past 24 months that shows a civilian in an open carry state was targeted (shot, stabbed, assaulted or robbed) by a criminal simply because they were openly carrying. Use the Google machine to make yourself $10.

First verifiable and functional link posted wins. Remember to read the articles for specific details. A person with a CHL who is involved in a shooting doesn't automatically count. A person who got shot with their own gun may or may not count depending on the circumstances (must be open carry, not domestic or in their living room).

I want a story about a openly carried gun being ripped from its holster ($5 bonus) or a civilian being singled out by the bad guy. Google is your friend and good luck. Don't be discouraged if you are not first. I expect there will be hundreds of cases, so someone will post up almost immediately. I may extend the number of rewards, so post up as many cases as you can find (hundreds must be out there)!

Nope. Happened in Multnomah County. While open carried is allowed, the weapon has to be unloaded.

You probably will not find much, i doubt very many civilians open carry to begin with. I know I have never seen anyone besides a cop carrying.

I'm on an Oklahoma hunting/shooting message board, and I've been observing how it's gone in that state. In the couple years since passage, there are still guys on the board who've never seen anyone open carrying in public, and those that have say it's a non-issue.

I visit OK a dozen times or more times a year, and I've always carried concealed (even on my own place). I can't think of any situation where I'd feel the "need" to open carry (here or there), but I do have a couple OWB holster just in case.

If we're keeping score in this thread, put me in the staying concealed category.

The biggest issue I see will be the "Low Information" individuals that will see an Open Carry and call 911 and all they have to say is "I Felt Threatened" and yer stop to grab some milk just became a Question and Answer session with the local police. A peace officer can ask another person darn near anything he wishes during a ‘consensual encounter’ or investigatory detention. Yer Milk will get warm.

Been carrying concealed for a long time and have no reason to change now. It will come and go like Y2K with no problems whatsoever. LOL
