I'm talking in terms of zoom numbers, lighted retical, FFP.

I was comparing the 6-24 style PST. Looks like Leupold VXIII goes up to 14 power. The Zeiss goes to 25, so that's comparable.

Leupold VX-3 goes up to 20X, can be had with lighted reticle and can be customized almost any way you want it through their custom shop including various knobs, reticles, colors, etc.

No it won't be as cheap as the Vortex and for good reason.

I've always been a Leupold guy and have never realized this, the custom shop part. Thanks for the info. I'll pay a little extra to get the brand I'm used to using.

Also, went and did some more research after Vortex being mentioned. Seems like they don;t do as well zoomed way out and there's a ton of scopes going back and forth for warranty work. I may save myself the headache and get into a NightForce or Leupold.

Ok, yesterday I posted that I had just received one of the new Minox scopes. I posted a few thoughts then, but wanted to post a few more, with some better pictures, so on to the review... I've handled and owned a few pair of Minox binos over the years and have always liked the value and ...

I have a minox and it has its issues. First off the glass is great. The scope seems robust but I haven't had it for to long. When I bought it it was listed and is still listed EVERYWHERE including their own site as being 1/2 MOA. When I got it it is 1/5 MIL. I called them and was told they never made it in 1/2 MOA, even though the pic on their site clearly says 1/2 MOA on the turret. I pointed this out and the answer was just thats weird, no other explanation. I was initially was going to send it back but after searching I couldn't find anything with the same specs in my budget so I kept it and decided to learn MIL adjustments. No big deal. Then after sighting it in the first time I noticed the elevation turret is numbered in reverse. Contacted Minox again and was told they would send me a new turret when it was available. It has been several months now. Still no new turret.

The Rifleman is Leupold's entry level optics. Nowhere near the quality of the VX-3.
