    Trijicon ACOG 4X32 question

Don't have a model number and didn't see it myself. A buddy found one with picitanny mount in a pawn shop for $190. Do/did the have cheaper models? Red/green reticule turns on, 3 light levels each. $190 sounds like a steal.

    What says the brain trust.

        Yes
I've checked trijicons site for what to look for.
Warranty won't cover 2nd/3rd/etc owner either.

I'd run unless he knows exactly what he's looking at. Way too many fakes and that's crazy cheap

Some of the fakes are even impressive haha

I'm not an ACOG fan though. Let us know what happens!!

I don't think trijicon makes an optic with two different color reticles. And only 3 brightness levels is a red flag. Sounds like a Chinese knock off to me. I would pass on it unless there was a way to be absolutely sure that it's a true ACOG.

I'm not familer with trijicons so good to hear about the 3 brightness level flag.

If I'm not mistaken, the real ones have an automatic, infinitely adjustable brightness based on the amount of light hitting the fiber optic, but I could be wrong. I also don't think they made them with multiple colors. Very few quality red dots that I am familiar with offer multiple colors in the same scope. They may have a red model, a green model or an amber model, but not usually all in the same tube. It's usually a "pick a color at time of purchase" type deal if I'm not mistaken.

txfireguy2003 is correct in his color info. The way you can be 100% sure with any ACOG is to call Trijicon and ask them to verify the serial number. They will do it with no hassle, tell you real or not, manufacture date, model info, customer (civilian or government), etc. Takes about 2 minutes.

Not real. Triji does a battery powered one but its only red

As stated above ACOG does not have light levels. It is a tritium based optics with fiber optics as well. If you cover the fiber and the reticle goes out it is a fake. true ACOG optics are visible at all times.

Yep. Definite fake. Run away! If you can only spend $200 on an optic go for a Primary Arms.

I don't think the point was what he can spend. It's that he found a potential good deal.

From Trijicons site they do have adjustable brightness levels on the non-fiber batt models. But it does look like either red, green or amber with 6 levels, not multi color.

ACOG has one light level and you are not going to find a real ACOG for $190.
