The first time I considered they were straight up unavailable. The second time, I just couldn't bring my self to gamble on the quality when for 500 more I could get another Schmidt and Bender and know what quality it will be.

I don't get into these discussions very often but I will say this.....
I have been a Vortex dealer for 11 years now (2004-2015). I was actually the first Vortex dealer in Texas. Most of my sales occur right here on TBH. My little ad in the classifieds has gotten over 28,000 views and has over 1000 replies in the last 3 years. I am not a big dealer. Actually I am a very small dealer. I will do about $60,000 to 70,000 in sales per year which is a drop in the bucket as far as Vortex is concerned, but the way Vortex treats me you would think I was their biggest dealer out there. They have been great to work with over the years.
As far as dissatisfied customers......out of over 1000 sales I have had ONE that I know of.....and he is posting here on this thread. I hated that he was not happy. He is a friend and of course I wanted him to be happy with his purchase. I do know that Vortex did their best to try and make him happy and even did an upgrade of product in an effort to satisfy him.
I have also had very few warranty issues.....at least ones reported to me. Maybe there are issues that I don't know about. Most people will call who they bought from to find out how to handle warranty issues. I have gotten very few calls or PMs (less than 10) in the last 11 years. Vortex has always promptly taken care of any issues that I have known about.
Maybe the statement about Vortex buyers and users have never experienced higher quality glass is true. Problem is....most of us cannot afford $1500 to $3000 scopes, binoculars and spotting scopes.
As they say.....haters gonna hate....but Vortex just keeps rolling along and growing day by day.
As a small dealer that buys one or two items at a time my only real problem is that I can't always get product when my customer wants it because of backorders.
Matter of fact they sell every Razor HD Gen ll, Viper PST, Razor HD spotting scope, and the list goes on that they can produce. If you have tried to buy one of these recently you will know what I mean. Heck...even the Diamondback binos are on backorder until mid December at this time.
I will post a couple of pics from yesterday's inventory feed to illustrate what I am talking about.
I hope ya'll are having a great hunting season. If you need anything Vortex or Slick Trick give us a PM. BTW....we may be the smallest Vortex dealer in Texas, but we are the biggest Slick Trick dealer in Texas.
