For all those that say the warranties of the big boys (Swarovski, Zeiss, Leopold, etc.) are the same as vortex, I invite you to run over one of those branded items with your truck and destroy it. Send it in and tell me if you get a new item for free.

That being said, I'd still choose any of those brands over Vortex (for the most part), but the warranties aren't the same.

I got this crappy scope in today. Maybe I can make do with it.

A buddy of mine dropped his rifle on a sheep hunt when his horse spooked. Horse stepped on the scope crushing it. Leupold replaced it. Free.

My uncle dropped his rifle out of a 16 foot tall tree stand crushing the leupold s ope. He sent it in and they couldn't fix it so they sent him a new one.

Gotta love these vortex threads and their great customer service. Seems like EVERYONE who buys one finds out about it it a short amount of time.

I have the viper binos and the viper HS scope. The scope that I bought was a demo at basspro and it was the last one they had in stock. I could see that it had been mishandled in the store so I sent it in for a quick look over. Vortex sent me back a brand new one. I have never owned any of the high end Swaros, nightforce, etc so I cant talk about their warranty, but I do like Vortex so far.

Man y'all truly hate vortex. I have seen guys leupys not work. I have a guy that came in that is sending his swaro back because it is not functioning properly. I have sold a ton of vortex and I have only had to send two back for folks. One was my pops and the other the was one that parallax was off. I have to agree they have great customer service. Optics were returned in 10 days. Sorry guys y'all truly hate them so bad. As I stated before I'm that moron that likes them. I think they are a good bang for a buck for most rifles. I also don't own many high end rifles so maybe that's why.

If you run over your scope and destroy it I wouldn't expect anyone to replace the same--but many manufacturers do so. I was chasing mule deer in Andrews years ago and a friend's Weatherby and Leupold hit the caliche at about 30-40 MPH. Weatherby restocked the Mark V for a nominal fee and Leupold sent a new or refurbished scope. If mine, I wouldn't have even thought about sending them back to see if they would fix/replace as I was the moron who left the rifle sitting on top of the Mutt/Jeep.

                      Vortex did it again

I don't hate Vortex but my experience with their performance has been sub par at best. I've owned every model except the Razor and every one has let me down when I needed them.

I guess some folks have just never experienced truly good glass and that's why they think they are so great.

They do offer a lot of bells and whistles for the price but it seems they sacrifice glass quality to offset the cost of other things.

                        I don't buy cheap optics.
cheapest glass I ever bought was Zeiss conquest scopes.

I don't hate them just don't like them. Below average glass and just search any forum for warrenty issues with scopes and you will find 10 vortex threads for every leupold/zeiss/swaro thread. But don't worry they will make it right... about 7 days after that buck of a lifetime walk out.

I had a pair of Leopold binos with a broken eyepiece. Sent them into leupold and received a brand new pair.

But I've also got a RX1000 Rangefinder that the LCD is going out in. Leupold wants me to pay to fix it. If it was vortex there would be no charge.

There may be cases where they go ahead and replace a product (that was obviously not a manufacturing defect), but that isn't their policy on paper and they don't replace them every time. Vortex does and has it down on paper.
