I had a Nikon Rifle Hunter 550 that got lost and I replaced it with a Leupold. The Leupold would not range through shoot through mesh but the Nikon would. I exchanged it for another Rifle Hunter 550 and have been happy with it for what I need, I've never needed it for longer ranges so I can't comment on that.

I have both Leupold RX1000 & Sig Kilo.

          Sig is superior hands down.

I have a Gen 2 G7 and like it but would suggest the Sig Kilo so you aren't carrying around a brick while bowhunting. I have ranged pigs out to 2,200 yards with my G7 resting on tripod.

There's a Gen 2 G7 for sale on the other hunting forum for $1,400 for you high rollers.

Love my Leupold, both for close quarters bowhunting in the Hill Country when I hunt a ranch or set-up I'm unfamiliar with, and for open country hunting in West Texas.

Leica Geovid 10x42 HD-Bs have been awesome for what I do. It is so nice to have one device that does everything I need.

Another vote for Sig Kilo! I've got the 2000 which is phenomenal. Especially since I got it last year for $300. When I can afford it, I'm going to get the new 2400 model.

Sig makes some reasonably priced range finders that have gotten good reviews. I personally use a Leica 1600B and have ranged hard targets to 1950yds repeatedly.

I have a Sig Kilo, I think it's the 2200, for $500. It's awesome. With my old Nikon I found it difficult to acquire the target. I was actually trying to range a moose and finally I was like acre it he's on top of me! Anyway, the Sig is great.
